I chose not to watch tonight’s episode of Gossip Girl for many reasons.

Let’s start with the obvious- Chair. It literally hurts that Chuck and Blair aren’t together. <—-That sentence. No words. After watching this show for five seasons, it’s hard not to grow an attachment to certain characters. Chuck and Blair were meant to be since season 1, episode 1. We all saw the way Chuck looked at Blair, and though we all shipped Nair for a little, nobody minded when Chuck and Blair got together. These two have been through everything together, and they’ve helped each other develop. While together, Chuck and Blair are at their strongest, and are powerful. They have so much together, Chuck is apart of Blair and always will be. In Crazy, Cupid Love the ten second eye contact Chuck and Blair had was more intense than the kiss Dan and Blair shared. Dan could never love Blair the way Chuck does, since he will literally do whatever it takes to get Blair, even after everything. Dair came out of nowhere. It started in the end of season 4, and will hopefully end as soon as Blair finds out it was Dan who sent in the video. While Chuck has been developing into an actual good person who cares about Blair’s happiness, Dan turned into the antagonist that only cares about his own happiness. Chuck’s made so many selfless gestures, while Dan has turned into the most selfish character on the show.

Also, Blair was, and always will be my favorite character. But her character has been so undermined lately. She used to be the strongest character, especially in seasons 1-3. But lately, the writers have made her weak and she depends on other people for her happiness, something the Blair we all know and love would never do. She would never even go near Humphrey without a tetnis shot. And now she’s actually referring to him by his first name, and kissing him? I don’t mind the Dair friendship, I think Dan is actually a really good friend. But seeing them together makes me sick. And it would of haha no made Blair sick during seasons 1-3, when she was at her highest peak.

Let’s not forget Serena. I honestly don’t understand why everyone has this huge dislike for Serena. She’s changed herself into a better person When? and actually set goals for herself When?. She focused on having a career When?, and actually set herself up in the business world. WHEN? The five times she fucking fell into jobs and then ditched them and/or got fired? There was a point when I was annoyed with Serena too That point called “all the time”?, but she’s not the same person she was. She doesn’t just fall for every guy she meets like she used to That’s because she hasn’t met any guy this season, and now she’s come to the fact that there’s only two guys she’s ever really cared about, Dan and Nate. As much as I would like for her to be with Nate lolwut, I also want her to be happy because she deserves it She really doesn’t. It’s only natural for her to want somebody, and if that person is Dan, then so be it. Clearly, she isn’t going to get her happiness anytime soon though.

And then there’s Nate. Nate hasn’t had a good story line since seasons 1 and 2, when he was struggling with his father and choices on his future. The only good relationships Nate has ever had was with Blair and Serena, and since Jenny and Vanessa, he’s only had short relationships with guest stars. He deserves a decent story line that doesn’t involve a girl that will only be on a few episodes, and though I was happy when he got the Spectator, we’ve all become bored with his character.

Personally, I don’t care how much hate I get for being against Dair, because I know Chair is endgame. So whenever the writers decide to bring that back in, I will resume watching the show again. Blair will always love Chuck, and Chuck will always love Blair. That’s the way it’s meant to be. Sorry I’m not sorry.

God help me, I fucking love the Gossip Girl tag from 9-9:30 on Mondays. (I had to add my commentary in bold, but the rest of that is just priceless.)
